TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Grant Cochran, a junior from Leland, Miss., majoring in biochemistry, was elected president of The University of Alabama Student Government Association for the 2011-2012 term.

Some 9,213 votes were cast in the election that was held through online voting on March 8.
Cochran received 5,288 votes to defeat challenger Coresa Nancy Hogan, a junior majoring in accounting and fashion retailing from Birmingham.

Vice president for academic affairs – Clayton Armentrout of Mobile
Vice president for external affairs – Alan Rose of Arlington, Texas
Vice president for financial affairs – Mark David Kennedy of Knoxville, Tenn.
Vice president for student affairs – David Wilson of Tuscaloosa
Executive secretary – Kelsey Kurth of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
