Growth at UA’s Manderson Graduate School of Business Brings Administrative Changes

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The burgeoning growth of the Manderson Graduate School of Business at The University of Alabama has brought about a restructuring of the school’s administration.

Dr. Robert M. Morgan has been named associate dean for graduate programs, and he will be responsible for all graduate business programs, both master’s and doctoral, as well as the MBA and EMBA programs.

“We want to enhance our services for master’s and doctoral students, and this restructuring is needed to enhance our capabilities for growth,” said Dr. J. Michael Hardin, senior associate dean of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration.

“Dr. Morgan is well known across campus for working with other colleges on dual graduate programs, which is another area in which we are seeing considerable growth,” Hardin said.

Morgan was formerly head of the management and marketing department. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees from Wichita State University and the University of Kansas, an MBA from the University of Dallas, and his doctorate from Texas Tech University.

Morgan’s research has been published in “Journal of Marketing,” “Academy of Management Journal,” “Journal of Advertising,” “Journal of Business Research” and “Marketing Management,” and he received the 1995 Harold H. Maynard Award for the best theory paper appearing in the “Journal of Marketing.”
