Voter Turnout High on UA Campus

Voter turnout has been high in Tuscaloosa County, especially at the precinct on the University of Alabama campus. By 2:30 p.m., 1,500 of 5,100 people registered to vote there cast their ballots.

Election viewing party a success

New student show choir sprouts up at UA

…A student show choir called Resonance is the first of its kind at the University. Michael Zauchin, a junior majoring in music education, started the choir to give students more extracurricular activities…Resonance is an audition show choir made up of 40 singers and dancers and is intended to be a 15-member band…

Birmingham News – Nov. 5

The Women Involved in Learning and Leading program, supported by the Women’s Resource Center and the department of women’s studies at the University of Alabama, is sponsoring a week of literacy events on campus through Friday. The events are part of a literacy awareness campaign designed to combat illiteracy in west Alabama by encouraging reading. As part of the campaign, members of the WILL program will be collecting age-appropriate elementary books for third-graders, which will be donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School library in Tuscaloosa…The University of Alabama’s department of theatre and dance will present the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre Fall Concert Nov. 11-13 at 7:30 nightly and Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. in Morgan Auditorium….
