TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama and DCH SportsMedicine are sponsoring the Distinguished Lecture Series in Sports Medicine, a continuing education series on various topics in athletic training and sports medicine beginning Thursday, Feb. 15.
The series is intended for certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other medical professionals with related credentials. The lectures will be held at the Willard Auditorium in DCH Regional Medical Center.
The lecture schedule is:
Feb. 15, 6:30-8 p.m.–Tab Blackburn, director of sports rehabilitation and athletic training services at Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will discuss “Scapular Rehabilitation.”
Feb. 25, 1:30-3 p.m.–Chad Starkey, associate professor at Northeastern University and the chair of the NATA Education Council, will present an “Update on Therapeutic Modalities.”
March 15, 6:30-8 p.m.–Donna Robertson, former head women’s athletic trainer at UA now in private practice in Hoover, will discuss “Biomechanical and Gait Analysis for the Athlete.”
