UA library receives large collection on Southern history

A former student gives back to the University of Alabama in a big way. A.S. Williams, III, donated a multi-million dollar collection of rare books, manuscripts and photographs that chronicle southern life. It’s now on display in the Gorgas library.

UA in top 100 for affordability

They may be raising tuition, but the University of Alabama and Auburn University still ranked in the top 100 in the 2010 Kiplinger Rankings of the top 100 values in public colleges. Auburn ranked No. 63 for in-state students, while Alabama came in at No. 65. Auburn’s annual in-state student costs were registered as $15,860, with the university providing an 18-1 student/faculty ratio. Alabama’s in-state student costs were listed as $14,994, with a 20-1 student/faculty ratio…
