TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art at The University of Alabama will present “Assembly: Selections from the Permanent Collection” June 18-Aug.13.
The gallery will host a reception on Thursday, June 21, from 6-8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition will contain favorites as well as new acquisitions from the permanent collection, including works by William Wegman, Enrique Chagoya, Lorna Simpson, William Christenberry, Ansel Adams and Picasso. The special collections will be highlighted with works by Kelly Fitzpatrick and Rockwell Kent, according to gallery events coordinator Vicki Rial.
UA’s permanent collection is composed primarily of contemporary works on paper and is supported by the Farley Moody Galbraith II Purchase Fund and the Friends of the Gallery. Funding for the gallery is provided by the department of art and the UA College of Arts and Sciences. As always, admission to the gallery is free.
The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art is located at 103 Garland Hall on the UA campus. Special summer hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-noon, and 2-4:30 p.m. For questions regarding the exhibition, call 205/348-1891.
