TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will sponsor a 5-K Fun Run in conjunction with UA Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m.
The run is open to all ages, and there is a $15 registration fee. Interested participants can currently register for the race at the UA Student Recreation Center; registration will be taken until 7:45 a.m. on the day of the race.
Parents are encouraged to run in the race along with their children in this family-oriented event.
Trophies will be given to overall winners and winners in each age category. Door prizes will also be awarded from drawings. The race is part of the Tuscaloosa Track Club’s Grand Prix series.
The run will begin at the Student Recreation Center. Participants will go down Campus Drive, take a left on Seventh Avenue at the Ferguson Center and turn left onto the Quad at Gorgas Library. From there, participants will travel down University Boulevard until they reach Fifth Avenue. They will turn onto Fifth, run until Campus Drive and then turn back into the SRC.
