TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Coach Dennis Franchione and the football staff at The University of Alabama will host the second annual Publix Football 101 class for women on Sunday, July 28, at the Paul W. Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa.

The cost is $89 per person and includes a unique course syllabus, shirt, meal and other handout materials. A portion of the proceeds from the registration fee will be used for a scholarship presented by the Tuscaloosa County Alumni Chapter.

All aspects of football are covered during the clinic and participants choose to learn at the beginner, intermediate or advanced level. The Crimson Tide staff provides instruction and interactive participation with the clinic attendees. In addition to the classes, there will be a fashion show hosted by McRae’s previewing football wear for the fall.

The event begins with an optional chapel service with testimony from a UA coach at 11:30 a.m., followed by registration at 12:30 p.m. Coach Fran will then open instruction at 1:30 p.m. Following dinner at 6:30 p.m., there will be an autograph and photo opportunity for the participants.

The first Football 101 sold out in three days last year, so the class size has more than tripled to accommodate the first 1,000 applicants. Approximately 500 women have currently signed up for the class.

Registration can be done by mail at Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, Box 11010, Tuscaloosa, AL 35486. Include name, address, phone number and level of participation along with $89 checks for each entry payable to Crimson Tide Sports Marketing.
