TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – MTV (Music Television Network) will be in Tuscaloosa to celebrate the spirit of Homecoming at The University of Alabama to be featured in an MTV-produced show that will air Oct. 26 from noon-2 p.m. (local time).
MTV VJs (video jockeys) Damien, Hilarie, LaLa, and Quddus will be taking part in UA’s pep rally (Friday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m., UA Quad), bonfire (after pep rally), step show (Friday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m., Bama Theatre), UA’s Homecoming parade (Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m., University Boulevard), and the events before and after the game against Ole Miss that kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
UA’s Homecoming events will be featured along with four other college campuses on “MTV Homecoming Weekend.” Segments of the two-hour show will be shot at Penn State, Virginia Tech, Montclair State University in New Jersey, and North Carolina Central University.
In addition to what is shot at UA, the following segments will also be part of MTV’s “Homecoming Weekend” program:
“Cribs Presents: How To Live Like A College Student” at Penn State — Different perspectives on what it’s like to be a college student, from the dorm to the classroom, and everywhere else in between.
“I Bet You Will” at Virginia Tech — Hosts of this segment find out just how far VT students and alums will go for a little money.
“Crib Notes” at Montclair State University in New Jersey — MTV’s style expert, Todd Oldham, will give a few lucky college students’ rooms and a student’s car a brand new look.
“Crashing with Andrew W.K.” at North Carolina Central University — Hard rocker Andrew W.K. crashes with a couple of college students for a few days while he’s on tour in town.
The show will repeat throughout the weekend of Oct. 26.
