Faculty Teaching Fellows Announced
The University of Alabama Teaching Academy has announced the second class of Faculty Teaching Fellows. This competitive program invites the University’s top educators to enhance their teaching and instruction while contributing their skills and knowledge to the vibrant teaching culture at UA.
The fellows are:

Honors Capstone Design Fellows Named
The University of Alabama Honors College and University Honors Program announced that 10 fellows have been selected for the Honors Capstone Design Fellowship. Each fellow receives a $5,000 summer stipend to develop a section of UH 401 Senior Capstone: Signature Work.
Fellows meet online during the month of June, workshop syllabi in July and make final submissions in August. Approved courses are then taught as UH 401 sections the following two years.

Fleet Management Nationally Ranked
UA Fleet Management was ranked 52nd in the NAFA 100 Best Fleet Award in North America. It was also the highest ranking university.
NAFA Fleet Management Association is the world’s largest membership association for individuals who manage the vehicular fleet and mobility responsibilities for their employers.
Wilkes Wins Early Career Award
Dr. Sherron Wilkes, a professor in UA’s School of Social Work, won the Early Career Faculty Service and Leadership in Social Work Education Award as presented by the Council on Social Work Education. The awards will be given out at CSWE’s annual conference in Denver in late October.
Fresh Food Company Takes Silver
National Association of College and University Food Services has awarded Bama Dining’s Fresh Food Company with a Silver award in Best Residential Dining Facility of the Year for 2025. This follows the 2024 Silver award for Lakeside Dining Hall in the same category and the 2023 Bronze award for Yoshoku for Best Residential Dining Concept of the Year.
Alabama Heritage Honored
In May, Alabama Heritage magazine earned the Communicator Award’s Award of Excellence for its 2024 redesign. In April, the magazine earned the PRCA Medallion of Merit for the Spring 2024 issue.
