Sen. Katie Britt, a University of Alabama alumna, spoke to students, faculty and staff as the keynote speaker for the Randall Scholar Speakers Series event March 29 to kick off Honors Week.
Britt, the first woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Alabama and the youngest Republican woman to be elected to the Senate from any state, shared her story and words of wisdom while honoring the 2024 recipient of the Catherine J. Randall Award, Kittson Hamill.
Part of the University’s highest honors, the Premier Awards, the Catherine J. Randall Award recognizes the most outstanding student scholar at UA based on GPA, rigor of course study and extraordinary scholarly or creative endeavor. The award was endowed in 2008 by Randall’s children to honor their mother and her accomplishments.
