The University of Alabama Landscape and Grounds Advisory Board observed Arbor Day on campus April 22 by celebrating the successful relocation of four trees.
The two oak trees and two maple trees were relocated for sidewalk renovations at Manderson Landing. The oaks were relocated within Manderson Landing Park and the two maples were transferred to the east side of campus.
“We have relocated these mature oaks and maples so that they can be enjoyed and loved by the UA campus and community for decades to come,” said Susan Bell, UA President Stuart R. Bell’s wife and member of the landscape and grounds advisory board, who spoke at the event.
The University of Alabama was recently named a Tree Campus USA for the fourth consecutive year by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
