This weekend, UA Opera Theatre presents “Semele,” the story of a love-struck princess who dreams of immortality through an adulterous affair with the god Jupiter.
Semele is warned, “Be careful what you wish for!” and meets her fate accordingly.
The production will be conducted by Maestro Blake Richardson and done in collaboration with the Huxford Symphony Orchestra.
This production, which will include storytelling and special effects, will be the most technically advanced attempted at Bryant-Jordan Hall.
Performances are Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, at 3 p.m. in Bryant-Jordan Hall.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $5 for student admission with valid student identification.
