Spring Break 2026: Campus Operations

Spring break is almost here, and that means fun, relaxation and altered hours for many campus operations. Here is what is open and what is closed during the break.

Art Galleries

All four spaces — the UA Gallery, the Paul R. Jones Museum, the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art and the Sella-Granata Art Gallery — will close after Friday, March 13, and reopen Monday, March 23.

Bama Dining

The only dining location that will be open during spring break is the Starbucks on University Boulevard, which will be open 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m., March 14-20, and 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on March 21.  

The following locations will be open Sunday, March 22:

  • Lakeside Dining 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
  • Social Bites (Lakeside) 5-11 p.m.
  • Mary B’s (Burke) 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Starbucks (Bryant Drive) 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Starbucks (University Boulevard) 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Julia’s Market (Tutwiler) 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Julia’s Deli (Tutwiler) 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
  • England Hall Market 4-11 p.m.
  • Raising Cane’s (Paty) 4-11 p.m.

Camellia Center

The Camellia Center will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday, March 13, until 8 a.m. Monday, March 23. There will be a victim advocate on call 24/7, accessible by calling UAPD at 205-348-5454 and asking to speak to the Camellia Center representative.

Campus Mail

Campus mail services will be closed March 16-20. Additionally, note these changes:

Departmental Mail
All outgoing mail must be received by campus mail no later than 1 p.m. on Friday, March 13, to go out before the break. Normal operations will resume on Monday, March 23, at 8 a.m.

Passports
The Passport Acceptance Facility, including TSA Pre-Check enrollment services, will close at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, to ensure all passports received are executed and shipped before the break. Normal operations will resume Monday, March 23, at 9 a.m.

Student Mail Center and Retail Shipping Station
On Friday, March 13, retail sales of stamps, outgoing shipping services and shipping supplies will stop at 11 a.m., though package and mail pick-up will be available through 5 p.m. Normal operations will resume Monday, March 23, at 8 a.m.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center follows the University’s calendar and will close for spring break. However, the on-call counselor is always available for crisis and emergency student needs. Students can reach the on-call counselor by calling UAPD at 205-348-5454 and asking to speak with the on-call counselor.

Crimson Concierge

Crimson Concierge service ends Friday, March 13, at 5 p.m., and resumes Monday, March 23, at 8 a.m. 

Crimson Ride

Crimson Ride will provide campus/apartment service until 9 p.m. on Friday, March 13. There will be no Crimson Ride service during spring break. Regular campus and apartment routes will resume on Monday, March 23, at 7 a.m.

Fleet and Automotive Services

Fleet services and automotive services will be closed during spring break. Anyone with fleet or automotive emergencies should call UAPD at 205-348-5454. Reservations are available through email to fleet@ua.edu. The key box will remain accessible 24/7.

IT Service Desk

The IT Service Desk phone hotline will remain open 24/7 throughout the break.

Parking

Residential students may leave their vehicles in the area they are zoned. Overnight parking is not allowed in commuter zones. Commuter students who need to leave their vehicles on campus over spring break should contact parking services at uapark@ua.edu

Residence Halls

Residence halls remain open during spring break. RA staff will be available for assistance if needed. During the break, staffing at the physical area desks will shift, but residents can get help 24/7 by calling the area desk as they normally would. 

Student Center

The Student Center will close at 5 p.m. Friday, March 13, and remain closed until Monday, March 23, at 7 a.m.

Student Health Center and Pharmacy

The UA Student Health Center and Pharmacy will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 23.

Supe Store

The Student Center and Town Center locations of the Supe Store will be closed during spring break. 

The Corner Store location will be open the following days and hours: 

  • March 14: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  
  • March 15: 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  
  • March 20: 2-6 p.m.  
  • March 21: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

UA Libraries

On Friday, March 13, libraries close early at 5 p.m., and all facilities are closed Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15. 

Gorgas and Rodgers libraries are open March 16-20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. 

All facilities are closed on Saturday, March 21, but resume normal hours on Sunday, March 22, at 11 a.m.

University Medical Center and Pharmacy

During spring break, University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa will be open Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will not be extended hours during this time. The UMC Faculty-Staff Clinic will be closed during this time, but clinic patients can be seen at UMC Tuscaloosa’s Family Medicine Clinic. University Health Service Pharmacy will also be closed.

University Museums

Bryant Museum will be closed Monday, March 16, but will be open Tuesday, March 17, through Sunday, March 22, during normal hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Moundville Archeological Park will be open regular hours during spring break.

Gorgas House and the Alabama Museum of Natural History will be closed during spring break.
