UA’s winter break is Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, 2024. Most offices and services follow the UA holiday schedule. Check individual websites and the UA events calendar for the latest information.
Art Galleries and Museums
Sella-Granata Art Gallery will close Dec. 15 and open its first show of the new year Jan. 22.
Sarah Moody Gallery of Art has closed. Its first show of the new year will be the 2024 Faculty Biennial Exhibition, opening Jan. 11.
Paul R. Jones Museum and The University of Alabama Gallery are closed. Both will open their first shows of the new year Jan. 17.
The hours of operation for the Alabama Museum of Natural History, Bryant Museum, Gorgas House, Moundville Archaeological Park and Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum are posted on the UA Museums website.
Bama Dining
Most Bama Dining locations will close Dec. 15. For the full list of operating hours for each Bama Dining location, visit the website.
All Starbucks drive-thru locations will be open until Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. The University Boulevard location reopens Dec. 26 and will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and close New Year’s Eve and day.
Campus Mail Service
Departmental mail: Mail routes will run as scheduled Dec. 21, but CAPS boxes will be collected at noon and all outgoing mail must be received by noon to go out before the break.
Student mail: The Campus Mail Service Center will cease retail sales at 11 a.m. Dec 21. See more information on deadlines to pick up packages or how to forward or return mail or packages.
Crimson Ride
Crimson Ride will not operate during the winter break and will resume full operations Jan. 8 at 7 a.m.
Shuttles from the Soccer Lot will run Dec. 16 for those attending commencement ceremonies at Coleman Coliseum.
There will be no bus service Dec. 16-17. From Dec. 18 until Dec. 21, there will be four buses on the Circulator Route, three on the Circulator 2 route and four servicing apartment complexes. These buses will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Student Health Center and Pharmacy
The SHC will be closed during winter break and will reopen Jan. 3 at 8 a.m.
Supe Stores
The Student Center and Town Center locations will be closed for winter break. The Corner Supe Store location will be open Dec. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed the rest of winter break. All Supe Store locations resume normal business hours Jan. 3.
University Medical Center
UMC will have reduced hours during winter break, with no evening hours during this time.
The Faculty-Staff Clinic will be open Dec. 20-21 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed during winter break and will re-open Jan. 3.
University Recreation
Recreation facilities will be closed during winter break, with adjusted hours Dec. 15-21.
