8 More Extras to Enjoy as a UA Employee

Last year the UA News Center shared eight extras for UA employees. Check out another eight below.

Museums, Music and Movies

Show an ACT Card for free admission to the Alabama Museum of Natural History and the Gorgas House Museum as well as the Paul W. Bryant Museum.

While some performances at the School of Music are ticketed, many others are free.

Stream movies for a class or for personal enjoyment using the UA Libraries’ video databases

Getting Around Campus

Bama Bikes can be rented by members of the UA community for a month or a semester. If you are thinking of getting a bike for campus, but still aren’t sure, renting one may help you decide.

Crimson Concierge is the campus on-demand service to assist faculty and staff in getting to meetings without using their vehicles. It assists registered faculty and staff with a pick-up or drop-off in the service area between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Users must first register for the service; instructions are on the website.

Be Efficient and Effective

Paper cluttering your workspace? Request a deskside bin from UA Recycling.

Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning offers professional development opportunities in various forms year-round, with workshops specifically for employees who serve in roles such as human resources, project management, customer service, supervision and leadership. UA employees receive a discount.

Balancing Work and Mom Life

Lactation rooms support nursing mothers returning to work, school or campus. Each room offers a clean, secure and private space for women who need to express breast milk during their time on campus. Each room has a table, chair and lock from the inside. Individuals should bring with them any personal supplies needed and should complete the sign-in book after using the room.
