The College of Human Environmental Sciences hosted the Fashion for Life runway show at the Bama Theatre Nov. 20. The fashion show featured 11 senior apparel design students’ collections that represented their personal design philosophy and target market.
Fashion for Life is the culmination of a capstone experience that students start preparing for before their senior year. After researching, planning and buying fabrics over the summer, students begin constructing garments for their collection when school starts in the fall. Students are able to apply all of the technical and creative skillsets they have learned in the apparel design program into this course.
All proceeds from the event’s ticket sales were donated to the United Way of West Alabama. In addition, money raised from sales was matched by Estee Lauder Companies.
