UA LED PROJECT TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE IN RURAL ALABAMA — With about $1.8 million in funding, The University of Alabama is leading an effort to significantly increase the emergency telemedicine capabilities in rural Alabama. The faculty members will use the funding to assist the Alabama Office of Emergency Medical Services connect 49 ambulances with 18 hospitals across 19 rural counties. For more information, contact Adam Jones, adam.jones@ua.edu 

UA TO HOLD FALL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES — The University of Alabama will host three commencement ceremonies, with one on Friday, Dec. 10 and two on Saturday, Dec. 11. Nearly 2,400 students will receive degrees over the commencement weekend. GRADUATE DISCOVERS LEGACY AT UA, CREATES A NEW ONE — On Dec. 10 at 6 p.m., Noah Evan Strong will receive his bachelor’s degree in computer science with a concentration in cyber security from UA. While Strong’s family wanted him to attend a historically Black university, he was inexplicably drawn to UA. Strong discovered why after his great-grandmother told him her father, Zeb Hosea, helped build multiple buildings on campus, including Denny Chimes. For more information, contact Jamon Smith, UA Strategic Communications, at jamon.smith@ua.edu. 

A CHAIN REACTION: THREE UA LAW STUDENTS DONATE KIDNEYS — For UA Law students Angelica Mamami, Katrina Smith and Ryne Smith, their journeys to kidney donation were inspired by their studies.
