HIGHER EDUCATION PROFESSOR NAMED TOP 15 EMERGING SCHOLAR UNDER 40 University of Alabama Assistant Professor of Higher Education Dr. Krystal Williams was chosen by “Diverse: Issues in Higher Education” magazine as one of the nation’s top 15 emerging scholars under the age of 40. Williams, whose research interests include racial equity in STEM fields and exploring the contributions of historically Black colleges and universities to higher education, said she’s excited that people have found the work she’s passionate about to be influential. CAPSTONE COLLEGE OF NURSING EXPANSION PROVIDES UNIQUE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, AMENITIES — UA’s Capstone College of Nursing opened the doors to a new wing this month that will allow growth of its nursing program by expanding student learning and collaboration space and equipping faculty with the square footage needed to conduct research, prepare lectures and meet one-on-one with students. In addition to the new learning spaces, the expansion brings other amenities exciting to students, including food service, an outdoor terrace and meditation labyrinth, as well as additional study space.
