A number of roads will be closed this week for maintenance and construction work.
10th Avenue and Dr. Edward Hillard Drive
RoadSafe Systems will perform railroad maintenance from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, on Tenth Avenue and Dr. Edward Hillard Drive. The roadway will be reopened as soon as the work is completed.
Frank Thomas Avenue and Sixth Street
The city of Tuscaloosa has scheduled road closures from 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, to accommodate the erection of a tower crane for a private development.
Frank Thomas Avenue, also known as 12th Avenue, will be closed between Eighth Street and Sixth Street. And Sixth Street will be closed between Frank Thomas Avenue and Wallace Wade Avenue.
Wallace Wade and Eighth Street
Wallace Wade Avenue and Eighth Street at 11th Avenue have been closed until further notice as a precaution from a workplace accident that occurred at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday. Two workers with a subcontractor were transported to the hospital by emergency responders. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
