UA Students Strive to Improve Community Through Service Projects August 20, 2018 Written by Richard LeComte 1 min read TwitterFacebookLinkedInEmail Before classes start, UA students strive to improve their community through such programs as Alabama Action, Outdoor Action for the Honors College and the Ripple Effect day of service. Projects often include work at local schools, rivers and parks. During Outdoor Action, approximately 100 incoming Honors freshmen and student leaders partner with local and state agencies to preserve natural resources. Outdoor Action Projects include trail preservation, picking up trash and removing invasive plants. Service projects were conducted Aug. 13-20.
