The University of Alabama won 11 awards, including two Grand Awards, as part of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s District III competition. The CASE District III awards were presented to UA representatives at a ceremony Feb. 13 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

UA won a Grand Award in the Branding/Identity Program or Campaign for the Where Legends Are Made campaign.

“We are so pleased that our communications and marketing peers have recognized our work in multiple categories,” said Linda Bonnin, vice president for strategic communications at UA. “It is a true testament to our talented, creative staff that is charged with telling the University’s story on a daily basis.”

CASE District III annually honors educational institutions in the Southeast for their efforts in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. Awards are given in numerous categories with the Grand Award being the top honor in each category.

UA earned one Grand Award in the category of Branding/Identity Program or Campaign for the Where Legends Are Made campaign, and a second in the Fundraising Publication category for the Performing Arts Academic Center Case Statement.

Where Legends Are Made speaks to the heart of who we are as a University and the indelible mark our alumni are making all across the globe,” said Bonnin. “These awards tell us we have gotten it right, and we couldn’t be prouder.”

UA received the Award of Excellence in the Total Advertising Campaign category for the Where Legends Are Made campaign, Magazine/Tabloid Improvement III category for the Collegian Alumni Magazine Improvement and Writing for the Media category for a story about UA engineering students developing an adapted toy car for a child with special needs.
