Super 7 Event Affects Roads, Parking

The University of Alabama will host the Alabama High School Athletic Association Super 7 State Football Championships at Bryant-Denny Stadium Dec. 6-8. The event will affect parking and traffic on campus.

Parking lots near stadium to close

The Wallace Wade lot, Denny Court lot, parking on the stadium apron, Communications Card lot and Calvary West lot will not be available for use by students, faculty and staff.

Road closures

Colonial Drive and Wallace Wade Avenue will be closed all three days. Cars will not be able to access the area until the roads are reopened by law enforcement at about midnight on Dec. 8.

Parking lots to have restricted access

Vehicles entering the Tutwiler, Rose Administration, Triangle, ten Hoor, Burke lots or Magnolia Parking Deck will have to show proper student or faculty-staff parking credentials. Fans will not be allowed to park in these lots until after 5 p.m. on Dec. 6-8.

Parking for people with disabilities

The Communications Card lot will be reserved for Super 7 fans with disabilities who display the proper government-issued credential. UA faculty and staff with the disability credentials can also access this lot on Dec. 7-8. Access will be from University Boulevard only. Activities on the Walk of Champions may hinder access to and from this lot at certain times of the day.

Crimson Ride routes

All routes, except the Gold Route, will be rerouted on Dec. 6-8 because of road closures. This includes the Green Route, Crimson Routes, Blue Routes, North and South Perimeter Routes and 348-RIDE Express route. The on-demand service through 348-RIDE will not be able to access Colonial Drive, Wallace Wade or the area of Bryant Drive at the stadium. Riders should expect delays.

Alternate parking arrangements for students, faculty and staff displaced by Super 7 activities

Communications Card lot permit holders will be allowed card access into the Stadium Drive parking deck (South ten Hoor parking deck). They will also be allowed to park in any green faculty-staff space available on campus, including the Magnolia parking deck. They can request four tokens for entry into the Ferguson and Campus Drive decks.

NW Stadium lot and Admissions lot faculty-staff permit holders should move to Magnolia Parking Deck during those days. Another area available nearby is the North ten Hoor Deck. They will also be allowed to park in the gravel lot behind Publix.

Faculty and staff with a permit for people with disabilities will be allowed to park in any disability space in the area, or the Communications Card Lot with the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Please note that activities on the Walk of Champions may hinder access to this lot at certain times of the day. Enter the lot from University Boulevard.

West Commuter permit holders from the Wallace Wade parking lot can park in the gravel lot behind Publix, in the surface lot at ten Hoor or in the North ten Hoor deck. The Perimeter Zone is also available.

Colonial Drive residents who leave the Northeast stadium lot will not be allowed to return until late Friday, Dec. 8, or early Saturday, Dec. 9, and will have to park in other orange permit places at Tutwiler or the Magnolia Parking Deck. Arrangements will be made for house directors through the Dean of Students Office.
