Comprised of representatives from across campus, the Office, Clerical and Technical Staff Assembly meets monthly to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, a resource for evaluating proposals, and a mechanism for expressing suggestions and concerns of the OCT staff employees of The University of Alabama.

In 2016-2017 the OCTSA will focus on the following:

  • Being an advocate for all OCT staff on the UA campus. The OCTSA represents UA employees in full-time and part-time regular non-exempt positions.
  • Working with campus partners to increase visibility and awareness of the OCTSA.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of current campus policies and potential changes to those policies, as they affect OCT staff.
  • Outreach activities including collecting pantry items for the Alabama REACH program, canned food collection for the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger drive, working with the Alabama Higher Education Partnership, and hosting a Well Bama session on Healthy Holiday Eating.

The OCTSA is also looking forward to its fifth annual Outstanding Staff Awards reception. The Outstanding Staff Awards recognize two outstanding employees from among the office, clerical and technical staff of The University of Alabama whose exceptional ability, performance and attitude have advanced the mission of The University of Alabama.

The assembly usually meets the second Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. in 110 AIME building. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 11.
