Cost increases for EpiPens
WVUA 23 (Tuscaloosa) – Aug. 24
EpiPens are vital for those who have severe allergies, but the cost of one of the life-saving devices is skyrocketing. The average price of an EpiPen in 2009 was around $100, but since then, the price has risen over 600%….Anna Montgomery is a UA student who suffers from severe peanut allergies, and she knows how much people need the drug…A yellow jacket sting could have been fatal for another UA student, but an EpiPen saved Adrianna Vanderven’s life. There’s no word yet on if and when the Senate Judiciary committee will review the price hike, or if the price of EpiPens will come down anytime soon. Until then, people who suffer from sever allergic reactions will just have to be extra vigilant or pay the price.
