UA Professor to Join Scientists Exploring the Deep Ocean

On Thursday, The University of Alabama’s Dr. Kevin Kocot will join 21 other marine scientists for training in the use of research submersibles. The scientists will collect animal, coral and sediment samples from the Atlantic Ocean’s bottom.

UA Center Releases Guide to Help Coastal Communities Prepare for Disasters

The University of Alabama’s Insurance Research Center released a guide today to help homeowners on the Gulf Coast prepare for weather-related disasters. The guide was produced by the Alabama Center for Insurance Information and Research at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce in partnership with Smart Home America and Coastal Alabama Partnership.
