UA Education Encourages Comments during Accreditation Process

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s College of Education invites third-party comments to be submitted to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation under the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Standards, which will visit UA for an accreditation visit in Spring of 2016.

Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the visiting team.

Please note that comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered, and they should specify the party’s relationship to The University of Alabama College of Education (i.e., graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates).

“The work of our College, especially our teacher education preparation, goes beyond the boundaries of our campus,” said Dr. Peter Hlebowitsh, dean of the UA College of Education. “Our faculty and students are out and about in the community and in the schools of our state.

“So, getting feedback from third-party sources gives us insight from individuals who might not otherwise have an opportunity to offer a view. And the more we learn about ourselves, irrespective of whether the commentary is fundamentally critical or fundamentally praiseworthy, the more likely we are to grow and improve in the future.”

Interested parties should send written testimony to:
