Nutrient Pollution Damages Streams in Ways Previously Unknown, UA Co-Authored Research Shows

In a new study published in the journal Science, a team of researchers, including University of Alabama ecologists, reports that nutrient pollution causes a significant loss of forest-derived carbon from stream ecosystems, reducing the ability of streams to support aquatic life.

UA Equestrian Team Caps off Successful Season, Looks Toward Championship Competitions

The University of Alabama equestrian team recently wrapped up its 2014-2015 season with a show at Berry College, where it earned the reserve high point title out of 14 schools entered. The performance was one of numerous high point and reserve high point finishes throughout the season that contributed to their second place ranking in the region in total points for the year, a jump of two places over last year’s ranking.

Juried Exhibition of UA Art Students’ Work on Display

Work by Bachelor of Fine Arts students in The University of Alabama’s department of art and art history will be displayed March 6-April 3 at the UA Gallery in the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center in downtown Tuscaloosa.
