UA’s Books for the Black Belt to Make Donation to Perry County Schools

The University of Alabama’s Books for the Black Belt program will donate more than 1,400 books Friday, Feb. 7, to school libraries in Marion County.

UA Sororities, Fraternities to Host Benefit Concert

Thirteen sororities and fraternities at The University of Alabama are teaming up to host a philanthropic event, Jam for St. Jude, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Sigma Nu fraternity house on campus. The event, which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is open to the public. Cost is $6 at the door.

UA Professor Finds Link Between Drinking Patterns, Alcohol ‘Cues’

The motivations for one to drink alcohol and patterns of future drinking can be related to the attentional narrowing – or zeroing-in – one has to a photograph of an alcoholic beverage, according to a psychology professor at The University of Alabama.
