Nelson Named Dean of UA College of Communication and Information Sciences

Dr. Mark Nelson has been named dean of the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama. Nelson has served as vice president for student affairs and vice provost for academic affairs at UA since 2008 and has been a member of the College of Communication and Information Sciences’ faculty for more than 20 years.

UA’s Computer-Based Honors Program Names Participants for 2014-2015

he University of Alabama’s Computer-Based Honors Program has begun announcing its selections for the 2014 freshman class. The program, which has been named among the six most intriguing honors programs in the United States by the National Institute of Education, pairs academically elite students directly with leading research professors and cutting-edge computing technology to complete scholarly research projects in any field of study.
