UA’s College of Arts and Sciences Selects Ambassadors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences has announced its student Ambassadors for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the College of Arts and Sciences at functions sponsored by the College. They assist with the planning and implementation of special events, provide tours of college facilitates to prospective students and assist the campus and Tuscaloosa community at large through acts of service.

“To be selected as an Ambassador is a distinct honor,” said Dr. Robert Olin, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “Ambassadors are selected based on their credentials as well as on a personal interview, and the appointments are highly competitive. These 26 students represent the College at a wide range of events and in the community. They are truly our ambassadors in the highest sense of the word, representing our more than 9,000 students to alumni, prospective students and their parents, and other College constituents.”

The College of Arts and Sciences is UA’s largest division and the largest liberal arts college in the state. Students from the College have won numerous national awards including Rhodes Scholarships, Goldwater Scholarships, Truman Scholarships, and memberships on the USA Today Academic All American Team.
