UA Recognizes Students, Partnerships during Awards Ceremony

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama recognized campus organizations and students during the 28th Annual Service and Leadership Awards.

UA’s Office of Student Involvement, the Community Service Center, the Office of Greek Affairs, Student Leadership and the Capstone Heroes Committee recently hosted the awards ceremony for the 2013-2014 academic year.

The Service and Leadership Awards recognize student organizations and individual students for their leadership and service endeavors on UA’s campus and throughout the community. They represent the highest honors given to student organizations and individual student leaders of those organizations.

The following recipients were awarded for 2013-14:

The David L. Phelps Organization of the Year Award: Tide Talks (The Organization of the Year award was named this year in honor of David L. Phelps, a graduating UA senior engineering major from New Orleans who during his time at UA devoted much of his energy to improving student organizations at UA and the campus community.)
