On June 11, 1963, more than 300 journalists were at The University of Alabama to witness Governor George Wallace’s unsuccessful Stand in the Schoolhouse Door. As part of UA’s “Through the Doors” commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the school’s desegregation, UA’s libraries are displaying a photo collection of the press corps as they worked on June 11, 1963.
