Five Elected to UA Homecoming Court

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The 2013 University of Alabama Homecoming Court was selected in an Oct. 1 student election.

The following students, all seniors, were selected as members of the Court:

Natalie Goodwin: a mathematics and economics major from Fort Worth, Texas. The Honors College Assembly sponsored her.

Jordan Patterson: an accounting major from Tuscaloosa. The Student Athlete Advisory Committee sponsored her.

Katrina Sharpe: a marketing major from Snellville, Ga. Gamma Phi Beta sponsored her.

Tiffany Underwood: an accounting major from Vestavia Hills. The National Pan Hellenic Council sponsored her.

Bella Wesley: an accounting major from Greenville. Kappa Delta sponsored her.

The 2013 UA Homecoming Queen will be announced Friday during a pep rally on the Quad beginning at 7 p.m.

Some 10,144 votes were cast in this year’s election. Students voted online through their myBama accounts.

The queen will be crowned at halftime of the homecoming football game between UA and Georgia State. The game begins at 11:21 a.m. Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Also on Oct. 5, the UA Homecoming Parade will begin at 7 a.m., starting on campus and ending in downtown Tuscaloosa. WVUA News Director Lynn Brooks and Terry Saban will co-host the 2013 UA Homecoming Parade broadcast on WVUA-TV at 7 a.m. Saturday for anyone in the Birmingham,  Tuscaloosa and Anniston viewing areas.  The parade will be re-broadcast at 4 pm. Sunday, Oct. 6.
