Dr. Catherine Roach, professor in The University of Alabama’s New College, has received a Fulbright-University of Leeds Distinguished Chair Award for 2013-14.

UA MIS Program Ranked Fourth Among Public Institutions

The Management Information Systems program at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce is ranked No. 4 among public universities and No. 8 among all universities, according to the 2013 Bloomberg Businessweek rankings.

Brewbaker Named Interim Dean of UA School of Law

William Brewbaker has been named interim dean of The University of Alabama School of Law. Brewbaker, the William Alfred Rose Professor of Law, assumed his new duties July 1, and he will continue in the interim position until a permanent dean is hired.

Carl Pinkert Named UA Vice President for Research

Dr. Carl A. Pinkert has been named vice president for research at The University of Alabama. Pinkert comes to UA from Auburn University where he has served as associate vice president for research since 2009. The appointment is effective Nov. 1.

UA to Host Workshop on Severe Weather Warning Process

The Center for Advanced Public Safety, or CAPS, at The University of Alabama will host a weather research workshop July 10 to present and evaluate research and applications aimed at enhancing the severe weather warning process.
