UA, Stillman to hold graduations
Tuscaloosa News – April 30
The University of Alabama will award more than 4,000 degrees this weekend, and Stillman College will welcome a nationally known radio host on May 11 as both schools hold graduation exercises…At UA, four graduation ceremonies will be held: 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. The College of Commerce and Business Administration and College of Engineering will award degrees Friday. The Capstone College of Nursing, College of Communication and Information Sciences, College of Education and the College of Human Environmental Sciences will hold commencement exercises at 9 a.m. Saturday, while the School of Social Work and College of Arts and Sciences will award degrees at 1:30 p.m. The law school will award degrees at 5 p.m. Doctoral recipients, education specialists and master’s degree candidates participate with their respective schools. The commencement ceremonies will be broadcast live on the Internet. The webcast will be archived on UA’s website, www.ua.edu/commencement, and will be available for viewing throughout May.

UA student and Paralympic gold medalist Annika Zeyen to graduate on Saturday

Many University of Alabama students are about to graduate from The Capstone, but one student’s accomplishments in the classroom and on the basketball court make her one of the most inspiring students in this year’s class. WVUA’s Travis Leder joins us live in the studio with more on the wheelchair athlete’s amazing accomplishments. Annika Zeyen is a German athlete who became paralyzed after a horseback riding accident. During rehab she learned the sport of wheelchair basketball. Her talents led her to the University of Alabama, where she became not only a world-class athlete, but an exceptional student.

UA engineering students hold HoverBowl Challenge
WERC-FM (Birmingham) – April 29  
Alabama and Auburn engineering students battling it out at Lake Lurleen State Park in Tuscaloosa – it’s the hovercraft championship.  University of Alabama playing host for the very first time to the University Hoverbowl Challenge. Auburn’s Hovering Tigers taking home the honors. This was the University of Alabama’s first run at a hovercraft.
