New York Artist to Show Work at UA Gallery
New York artist and University of Alabama alumnus Thornton Willis will appear at an artist reception and question-and-answer session from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art on the UA campus.
Climate Change Discussion Opens Philosophy Lecture Series at UA
On Sept. 25 The University of Alabama will host Dr. Simon Keller, associate professor of philosophy at Victoria University of Wellington, who will lecture on “Understanding Skepticism about Climate Change” at 7:30 p.m. in 205 Smith Hall on the UA campus.
Cuba’s Prenatal Program Improves Low Birth Weights, According to UA Study
Comprehensive prenatal care can decrease the rate of low birth weights, according to a study led by Dr. Yasmin Neggers, a University of Alabama researcher and professor of human nutrition and hospitality management.

Aerospace Association to Present UA Engineering Student with Scholarship Friday
Justin Anderson, a junior from Louisville, Ky., studying aerospace engineering and mechanics at The University of Alabama, is the recipient of the 2012 Rockwell Collins Scholarship awarded by the Aerospace States Association.
