UA professor finds link in children with autism

A University of Alabama professor has found a possible similarity in children with autism. Dr. Yasmin Neggers conducted research with a colleague in Korea, looking at the blood levels of children with autism. The professor found autistic children in her study showed an omega-3 deficiency.

Investment guru paints bleak picture for students

Internationally known investment guru Jim Rogers dropped a bombshell on an audience loaded with University of Alabama business and finance majors Wednesday. He told them to look for different careers. The days of lucrative careers on Wall Street are over, he said in a speech at UA’s Ferguson Center. “Banking, finance and Wall Street will be bad places to be for the next 30 years,” he said.

Dance shows bring together students, professionals

Tuscaloosa Community Dancers will present three acts at the Bama Theatre this weekend. The events will be held Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and matinee shows at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show will consist of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Les Sylphides” and Twyla Tharp’s “Baker’s Dozen” performed by Tuscaloosa Community Dancers, the University of Alabama department of dance and Alabama Ballet.
