SEC CHAMPIONSHIP STUDENT TICKET INFORMATION

Details and dates for the sale of student football tickets for the 2011 SEC Championship game have been finalized. The dates to be placed on a ticket request list are Nov. 9-10. Students who are determined eligible to purchase a ticket may do so on Nov. 11. Following is a timeline that explains what each student needs to do in order to participate in the online sale.

Nov. 9-10
UA students interested in purchasing SEC Championship game tickets must be placed on a ticket request list beginning Wednesday, Nov. 9. Students must go to http://www.actcard.ua.edu/ and add themselves to the request list between 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, and 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10.

To be placed on the request list you must go to http://www.actcard.ua.edu/ and click on the My Football Ticket link. You will log into the My Football Ticket tab with your MyBama account. Once logged in, click on the Request Ticket option to add yourself to the request list. Please remember, if you received penalties last season that affected your ability to purchase a ticket package this year, those penalties apply to your eligibility to purchase this year’s post-season tickets. 

Students eligible to add themselves to the ticket request list must be currently enrolled students who have confirmed their schedule for the fall semester and meet the Student Eligibility for Attending Athletic Events policy as described at http://studentreceivables.ua.edu/Student_Eligibility_Athletic_Events.html. In addition to those criteria, you must not have gone over the restrictions set forth by the SGA for late donations, unused home game tickets or student guest upgrades. For details on the restrictions, click here: http://www.actcard.ua.edu/pages/GITG%202011.html.  Students are asked to add themselves to the request list only if they plan to purchase SEC Championship tickets, in the event they meet the earned hours cut off.

For the SEC Championship, game tickets will be distributed on an “80/20” percentage to all students. Eighty percent of the student SEC Championship tickets will be allocated to undergraduate students, and 20 percent of the student SEC Championship tickets will be allocated to graduate and professional level students. If the number of student ticket requests in either the undergraduate 80 percent, or graduate 20 percent exceeds the allotted number of student tickets for the SEC Championship game, tickets will be distributed in descending UA earned hours until the student ticket allotment is exhausted. 

Nov. 11
On Friday, Nov. 11, an email will be sent to students who are eligible to purchase tickets. The distribution will be determined by the number of UA hours completed through the summer of 2011. Students receiving the email must come by the Ticket Office on either Friday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Monday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. to purchase their tickets. Online payment information will be sent to students who received SEC Championship tickets by UA earned credit hour on Friday, Nov. 11 via email. SEC Championship tickets will be $55.

All student tickets must be picked up in person at the game site in Atlanta, Ga., with two forms of valid photo identification: UA Action Card and current driver’s license. All identification presented must match the ticket holder of record who is attempting to pick up the ticket. SEC Championship tickets may not be transferred to another student. Students who wish to sit together should pick up tickets together in Atlanta so that seats can be allocated together.

EVENTS

ALABAMA VS. LSU — The Nov. 5 football game between the UA Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers kicks off at 7 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium and will be televised on CBS. Fans making plans for this weekend on campus can read the latest game-day information at http://www.uagameday.com, including how to stay in the know via Facebook, Twitter and UA’s mobile website. ESPN College Gameday will broadcast live from the UA campus, beginning at 9 a.m. Nov. 5. The following are game-related announcements and activities:

  • A Turn It Up Tide pep rally will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. at the Walk of Champions, in front of the north side of Bryant-Denny Stadium. The pep rally will include former Tide players, broadcaster Chris Stewart, the Million Dollar Band and the UA cheerleaders. The event, hosted by the Student Government Association and the intercollegiate athletics department, launches the Turn It Up Tide campaign to encourage students to show up and be loud for Crimson Tide athletic events. 
  • University Boulevard from Campus Drive West to Hackberry Lane will close on Friday, Nov. 4, starting at 7 p.m., to accommodate the pep rally at the Walk of Champions, and will reopen following the pep rally’s conclusion.
  • University Boulevard from Campus Drive West to Stadium Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, for the broadcasting of ESPN College Gameday. Drivers who are heading west on University Boulevard to access Stadium Drive in order to drop off items at the Quad will not be affected; the roadblock will force all vehicles on University Boulevard to turn right onto Stadium Drive
  • The core campus roadblocks will be set at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. At the University’s discretion, the roadblocks could be in place anytime prior to 3 hours before the football game’s 7 p.m. kickoff. Click here to see a map showing all roadblocks.
  • The Coach’s Trophy, which is presented by Dr. Pepper to the BCS champion each year, will be on display from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the corner of the Ferguson Center Plaza near the University Supply Store. Fans can get a free photograph taken with the trophy.
  • The University Supply Store will operate special hours and locations on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Ferguson Center, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; the tent on the Quad, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and the Bryant Museum Gift Shop, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
  • Santa Claus will be at the University Supply Store tent on the Quad from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 5. A professional photographer will be available to take free photographs with Santa, which can later be claimed on The SUPe Store’s Facebook page.
  • Policies regarding prohibited items (oversized bags, etc.) at the stadium are located at all gated entrances to the stadium and can be found online at www.rolltide.com. Individuals that arrive at the stadium gates with prohibited items will not be allowed to enter the stadium. To view the full list of stadium policies, click here.
  • The following parking lots and areas must be vacated by 5 p.m. on Fridays of all home games: Colonial Drive south of Eighth Street, the south one-third section of the Coleman Coliseum lot, the Tutwiler main lot and “triangle” lot, the lower Student Recreation Center lot, the Northeast Campus Drive lot and the large lot east of the Moody Music Building.

Beat Auburn Beat Hunger 5K Race, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m., parking lot of outdoor pool at the Student Recreation Center. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top three female and male winners in each category. Registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt.
