Gov.-elect Robert Bentley, who will work with the first Republican-majority state Legislature in 136 years, told lawmakers Wednesday that he wants to challenge them to do things the right way. “Let’s work together, let’s govern together, let’s look at the people that we are truly going to serve and that’s the people of Alabama,” the former Tuscaloosa House of Representatives member said in his first formal address to the new Legislature that was elected Nov. 2. Bentley’s remarks came at the end of the legislators’ orientation session at The University of Alabama School of Law.

Ticket sales are brisk for Capital One
Tuscaloosa News – Dec. 9
Sold out. That’s the way it went for the University of Alabama’s original allotment of tickets for the Capital One Bowl in Orlando. Alabama sold out the 12,500 tickets it originally received and exceeded that, with more than 16,000 tickets sold through the UA athletic ticket office by late Wednesday afternoon. “Alabama has a tradition of being an attractive team to bowl games largely because of our excellent fan support,” UA Director of Athletics Mal Moore said. “The response we have received for tickets to the Capital One Bowl is yet another example of the tremendous fan support we receive.”
