UA Engineering Student to Receive Baldwin County Road Builders Association Scholarship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Benjamin Gravlee of Fairhope, a senior at The University of Alabama with a double major in civil and construction engineering, will be awarded the Baldwin County Road Builders Association Scholarship for $2,500 on Nov. 9 at the association’s meeting in Fairhope.

The Baldwin County Road Builders Association Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 to promote the road building industry in Baldwin County.  The fund awards a rotating annual scholarship to the Outstanding Civil Engineering Student at UA, the University of South Alabama and Auburn University.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s fully accredited College of Engineering has more than 2,700 students and more than 100 faculty. In the last eight years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater scholars, Hollings scholars and Portz scholars.
