Three UA Engineering Students Receive Alabama Road Builders’ Association Scholarships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Three University of Alabama civil engineering students recently received Alabama Road Builders’ Association Scholarships at the annual officer installation banquet held in Montgomery. The Ed and Charlotte Rodgers Scholarship provides each student with $1,000.

The recipients include:

  • Kenneth Anderson, a graduate student in civil engineering from Madison.
  • Margaret Johnson, a senior majoring in civil engineering from Moundville.
  • Lauren Wells, a senior majoring in civil and construction engineering from Northport.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s fully accredited College of Engineering has more than 2,700 students and over 100 faculty. In the last eight years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater scholars, Hollings scholars and Portz scholars.
