State Housing Report, Affordability Index Posted on UA Website

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The latest look at the housing situation in Alabama is available on the Web. The reports are compiled and posted by the Alabama Center for Real Estate at the Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama.

The Alabama Housing Report, which tracks total home sales on a monthly basis, shows Alabama home sales for May 2010 up 6.47 percent from April and up 23 percent from May ’09. The complete report can be found at http://acre.cba.ua.edu/housing_report.php

Also, the First Quarter 2010 Alabama Housing Affordability Index report can be found at http://acre.cba.ua.edu/affordability_index.php.  The Housing Affordability Index for the first quarter of 2010 finished at a staggering 213.3, its highest level in 17 years.
