…A successful businessman, Mr. Jones found in art both great gratification and a sense of mission. He has been a major figure in discovering the genius of African-American artists, and he built one of the greatest collections of works by black artists in America. …Le Deunff was at the University of Alabama in Huntsville this weekend to participate in the annual meeting of the Alabama chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French, held at the Tom Bevill Center off Sparkman Drive. He awarded Metka Zupancic, a UA French professor, the title of Chevalier dans l’ordre des Palmes Academiques, an award created by Napoleon to recognize educators who promote the French language and culture….
