University of Alabama astronomers invite the community to view star clusters and nebulae in the next Public Night sky-viewing session Friday, Nov. 20 from 7 until 10 p.m. at the Moundville Archaeological Park.

UA Seeks Feedback on Foster Auditorium Plaza Renovation

The University of Alabama is soliciting feedback from the community on the concept of a plaza at Foster Auditorium that will be designed to commemorate the events surrounding the “Stand in the Schoolhouse Door.” Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are invited to share their comments at open meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Monday, Nov. 30 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in room 127 of the Biology Building on campus.

UA Sociology Professor Co-edits Encyclopedia on Death and the Human Experience

A professor at The University of Alabama is the editor-in-chief of the recently published Encyclopedia of Death and the Human Experience. The massive 330 entry, two-volume work has been called “a seminal work of impeccable scholarship” by Internet Bookwatch.
