Supe Store starts textbook rental program

…The University Supe Store is piloting a new textbook rental program this fall. Right now it’s only available for three books, but Supe Store staff members hope to see the program grow in the future.

UA SGA helps students by providing emergency loans

…The SGA is offering some emergency loans…a student can borrow up to $500 by applying online. If approved, they can simply pick up the money.

Pork & Politics event held on eve of election

…A crowd of several hundred, mostly University of Alabama students, spoke with incumbents and challengers in an informal event at The Zone on Monday, lured perhaps by free barbecue as much as sloganeering. The late afternoon event, billed as Pork & Politics, was co-sponsored by the UA Student Government Association and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. The informal event gave council and board candidates one last chance to mingle with students and residents before today’s municipal election…
