Local haunts
Tuscaloosa News – Oct. 28
Ghosts in a college town do not discriminate: They are as likely to haunt buildings on campus as in the city at large…one reason the University of Alabama Student Government Association, the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society and the Tuscaloosa Paranormal Research Group are teaming up Wednesday and Thursday night for ‘Haunted Tuscaloosa Tours.’ The bus and walking tours will be limited to UA students this year, but, if the event is successful, it might be open to everyone in future years, said Ian Crawford, a junior from Auburn who is active in both the SGA and the preservation society…The cost to students will be $7 each, with tickets available through the SGA. Proceeds will go to the preservation society. ‘We think this is a wonderful, fun way to get students involved in Tuscaloosa,’ said Susan Hayes, the executive director of the preservation society, who will meet the tours at the Drish House. ‘Who doesn’t like a good ghost story just before Halloween?’
