TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 2008 University of Alabama Homecoming Court was selected in a general student election held Tuesday, Oct. 28 on campus.
The following students were chosen to be members of the 2008 UA Homecoming Court:
- Caroline Ball, an applied mathematics major from Glenview, Ill.
- Patty Ann Green, a communication studies major from Columbus, Miss.
- Caroline Gwaltney, a journalism major from Alexander City
- Phillips Thomas, an international studies major from Anniston
- Maegan Wrenn, an accounting major from Gadsden
The 2008 UA Homecoming Queen will be announced Friday, Oct. 31 during a pep rally beginning at 7 p.m. on the UA Quad. The queen will be crowned during halftime of the homecoming football game between Alabama and Arkansas State on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Some 4,627 UA students voted in this year’s election held in the Ferguson Student Center and at the Student Recreation Center. This year’s election showed around a 10 percent increase in voter turnout from the 2007 Homecoming Queen election.
