UA, Stillman boast large freshman classes

…For UA, it’s the largest freshman class in its 177-year history…Although an official tally can’t be made for a few weeks, UA’s freshman class should be larger than a year ago when 4,538 enrolled, President Robert Witt said Tuesday at the annual Capstone Convocation, a formal ceremony to kick off the new academic year…It would be the fifth straight year with a record freshman class if preliminary numbers hold, and administrators expect overall enrollment to top the record 25,580 in fall 2007, said university spokeswoman Cathy Andreen. UA is nearing the 28,000 goal set by Witt when he arrived in 2003, when there had never been more than 20,000 students at UA…
Freshmen Celebrate Capstone Convocation

Many activities available for freshman, college adjustment
