A University of Alabama nursing faculty member who helped reservists injured in Iraq receive follow-up medical care closer to their homes will receive the military’s Legion of Merit Award in a May 7 ceremony on the UA campus.
Sarah Barnes, a senior majoring in civil engineering at The University of Alabama, was recently awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Daniel W. Mead Prize for Students for placing first in the ASCE National Paper Competition.
The Bernard Osher Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to The University of Alabama for the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program, which assists students who have experienced a five-year or more interruption in their education and want to resume their undergraduate studies to complete their degree.
